About PCN

PCN Technology designs, develops and commercializes embedded subsystem module solutions that utilize conducted mediums for data communication, control, networking and simultaneous energy management. 

PCN products allow customers to utilize existing infrastructure, such as powerlines and other conducted medium infrastructure creating the backbone for “non-traditional” IT networks. 

Bridging to other wired and wireless based systems, PCN provides for the overall routing and switching of data to other products and systems. Partners and customers gain advanced networking and communication increasing the abilities and efficiencies of processes while simultaneously decreasing cost, weight, bulk, and heat among other. 

PCN products are open standards and interoperable. 

PCN was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA with offices in the Midwest and Southeast.

President and CEO

Venkat Shastri
:  Dr. Shastri is a world recognized leader in the fields of intelligent automation, control and robotics. He comes to PCN Technology, Inc. from Palomar Technologies where he oversaw the designing, building, integration and support of high-precision machinery needed to assemble complex packages with the highest accuracy and reliability. Prior to Palomar, Dr. Shastri held the position of Senior Director of Engineering and Product Development at KLA-Tencor; one of the world's leading suppliers of process control and yield management solutions for the semiconductor and related microelectronics industries. Prior to KLA, he spent five years with SRI International, the leading research institute, as director of robotics and intelligent automation and senior research scientist. Respected for his research in artificial muscles and bio-automation, his scientific and academic background includes Engineer for the Mars Pathfinder project, research scientist at Yale University, member of the technical staff at the Caltech Jet Propulsion laboratory, and research consultant professor at Stanford University. He received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering and has a Ph.D in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Daniel A. Drolet
Mr. Drolet is a well known business executive and recognized leader and expert in the fields of technology management focused in communications, networking and information technology overall.  Mr. Drolet is recognized nationally in the fields of IP management and is quoted and author in various publications related to technology management including Fortune, Fast Company and other intellectual property books and manuals.  Mr. Drolet has served as the Chairman of the Board for South Carolina Better Business Bureau, as well as, Past Chairman and Treasurer.  Daniel is recognized by “Who’s Who among IP Technology Professionals and Executives” and is a consultant with the Gehrson Lehrman Group’s Council of Tech Media Telecom Advisors. As Chairman of IPG Worldwide, Mr. Drolet is responsible for the development and management of a global portfolio of IP Assets managed for customers and partners such as Sony, Lucent Technologies, Bell Labs and numerous other high technology companies. He is an active member of the Universal Powerline Association, the leading Powerline Communication organization focused on International Standards and Applications where he serves as Chairman of the Marketing Working Group, member of the Command and Control Working Group, as well as, other functions.  Daniel also serves as PCN’s representative for the Modbus Organization, an industrial protocol communication and networking organization among others.  Mr. Drolet is a cofounder of PCN Technology, Inc.

EVP, (CTO) Chief Technology Officer

David M. Strumpf: Mr. Strumpf is a cofounder of PCN Technology, Inc. and the Chief Engineer and Developer of PCN’s technology portfolio and products.  He is a recognized leader in the fields of industrial technologies focused on control, automation and overall communication, networking and energy management.  David has been the Lead Developer on multiple technologies within Industrial Engineering, Sensor Technology, Industrial Software, Hardware and Firmware. He is the primary Developer of sensor claims in Bio-Chemistry Processing Systems.  David has been the Lead Engineer and Development Manager of Industrial Energy Management Software for Energy and Power Management Systems.  Other positions include R&D Manager with ABC Laboratories and Director of Engineering for a medical automation research institution.  Mr. Strumpf has significant experience and project management experience in the development, design and implementation of industrial and mission critical components into multiple markets.

VP of Finance

Charles D. Barnett: Doug comes to PCN with corporate finance experience which previously focused on growth companies within multiple technology sectors. Prior to joining PCN, Doug provided finance, accounting and control functions relating to private equity, asset securitization, intellectual property, and overall technology R&D and commercialization. Doug graduated from Winthrop University in 1991 with a Degree in Accounting and Finance.

Albert Hugo-Martinez:  Former Chairman Ramtron Technologies (NASDAQ: RMTR); Director, Microchip Technologies (NASDAQ: MCHP); former President and CEO of AMCC Corporation (NASDAQ: AMCC); former President and CEO of GGTI Co. (NASDAQ: GGTI) sold to Tecknitrol; former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Burr-Brown Corporation – instrumental in its IPO (NASDAQ: BBRC); Advisor to Cognet – instrumental in 2001 sale to Intel.  Mr. Hugo-Martinez has over 27 years with P&L experience, negotiated, built and managed manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Scotland, Japan, managed remote facilities in Philippines, and the People’s Republic of China – PRC; created and negotiated international strategic alliances; Plessey (UK), Seiko Epson (Japan), Hewlett Packard (U.S.), AMP (U.S.), Read-Rite (U.S.), Partner and Cofounder of PCN Technology, Inc.
